Gladalan White produces medium to large sized white bulbs. Can be grown as an autumn or spring crop in the more temperate parts of the country. Sweet and mild, they are great cooked or roasted, or even better raw in salads and sandwiches. When to PlantZone 1: February–May + September - NovemberZone 2: March–June + September - NovemberZone 3: March–SeptemberZone 4: March–June Soil The soil should be free draining and not contain excessive nitrogen which will result in excessive foliage growth at the expense of the bulb. The main requirement for onions is potassium, so apply wood ash or potash prior to planting.Soil pH Level 6.5Position Full sun, in a spot that follows leafy green crops such as lettuce or cabbage. How to Plant Sow the seeds directly into the veggie patch in early autumn if conditions are not too warm, otherwise propagate in a mini greenhouse and then transplant once conditions become more mild Spacing 2cmDepth 0.5cmCompanion Plants Carrots Approximate no. of seeds 60 Note: Little Veggie Patch Co source all of our seeds locally and in small batches to ensure they remain at their maximum viability for germination **Shipping - Not to Tasmania, South Australia or Western Australia**
