Introducing Clothing The Gaps revamped "Empty" Flag tee, a symbol of the power of clothing in driving social change, inspired by the impactful #FreeTheFlag Campaign. This tee proudly displays an embroidered flag on the front. On the back, the phrase 'Wear Your Values' is nestled mid-side, adding a touch of understated cool.

Clothing The Gaps spearheaded the #FreeTheFlag Campaign from June 2019 to January 2022, rallying against a cease and desist from WAM Clothing for producing merchandise featuring the Aboriginal flag. Through Clothing The Gaps petition, #PrideNotProfit, and the incredible support of our community, Clothing The Gaps achieved a monumental victory on January 24, 2022, freeing the flag for all. Join us in wearing this tee as a testament to the power of collective action and the enduring fight for justice.

Can I wear this?

This product is Ally Friendly.

Ally friendly merch is for everyone.

When we see non-Indigenous people wearing our designs, we feel proud that they are repping our merch and culture.

When we see Aboriginal designs in the world, it means Indigenous people are not invisible in the landscape.

But, purchasing from Aboriginal brands, businesses and wearing Indigenous designs alone is surface-level allyship. There needs to be more commitment than just buying from Aboriginal brands and businesses.

Wearing Aboriginal design is not dismantling a system that oppresses Indigenous people. Allies need to do more and learn more. Wearing our tees is a great starting point. We have equipped you with our merch and some of the educational content to go with them. We want you to go out in the world, have these important conversations and find ways to do more and support more.

Care Instructions
